A great saint Jalaram Bapa ranks among the greatest saints of India.
As bourne out in his life story, he was full of compassion for all living beings, Even inaminate things.
As he saw God in all living beings and animals.
Jalaram Bapa was born in Virpur, Rajkot district, Gujarat, India in 1799, on the seventh day of Shukla Paksha of the Kartika month.
This is now known as Jalaram Jayanti.
His father was Pradhan Thakkar and his mother was Rajbai Thakkar who belonged to the Lohana clan.
He was a devotee of the Hindu god Rama.
On Jalaram Jayanti day, devotees are served meals as Prashad, heaps of fans visit Virpur.
He lived and moved in god and spent himself in the service of man, without any distinction of caste and creed.
